LJA Legal is a new solo practice run by Lionel Appelboom. Lionel has 30+ years’ experience as a partner in top/mid tier and boutique commercial law firms.

Clients have ranged from large corporates and family offices to SMEs and local government. Particular focus areas include building and construction, property leasing and commercial contracts. Lionel has also acted for clients in diverse commercial disputes in those fields in Courts, Tribunals, arbitration and adjudication.

My services

I have extensive skills and experience across commercial law, building, property, leasing and commercial disputes and if needed, I know where to find the right answer.

A special project I can help with might involve:

Procurement - reviewing your procurement documentation to develop a standard Purchase Order or Services contract with terms and conditions specifically adapted to suit your business needs.

Property Leasing - reviewing your leases to identify material risk issues and mitigation measures, or develop a contracts register of key terms, dates and issues to monitor.

Building + Construction - checking the legal processes in your upstream and downstream contracting for legal risks.

Commercial Disputes - a lingering and costly dispute, whether in the Courts or heading in that direction, may benefit from a consideration of other ways to achieve a resolution.
